I love Hyderabad!

On a busy traffic day in Hyderabad, in a narrow lane which accomodates only one autorickshaw at a time, a truck driver gets stuck. Two cars following the truck compete to get ahead. Truck is not moving. Car 1 isn't moving more than an inch at a time. Car 2 wants to overtake Car 1 and abuses him for having no sense. Car 1 ignores Car 2. A scooter enters from behind and squiggles through and abuses the truck driver, car 1 and car 2 drivers. What can be inferred from the above situation?
Truck driver is from Dilukhnagar - Dumb and Retarded. Car 1 is from Ameerpet - Greedy, Dumb and free from common sense. Car 2 is from Kukatpally - an epitome of idiocy and irresponsibility. The scooterist is from Balanagar.

The Tree

Breeze cold and slow blew across the meadows,
Stood tall the tree among many little weeds.
Asked the weed to the old tree - As tall as you, when will I be?,
Tree bent on its knees and said to the weed.
Tall you will be, but from up here, what will you see?
Dirt, Misery and Sickness will you see?
'Nature and its beauty I want to see, As tall as you, I want to be.'
Nature's dying and withering is its beauty'
When you grow tall, nothing will be left to see,
Nothing will be left to see....

The Moment

Soaked in moonlight was that quiet night
Lost in that moment, I was a string-less kite
Enticing fragrance from the distant flowers
That was the moment, it was all ours

Deafening silence held us together
So close we were, but still far from each other
Cold wind blew through the good old trees
Waiting we were, for the moment to freeze

Winter’s here again but it’s another year
You are gone and so is the cheer
Memories of that evening still haunt my eyes
Seeking a lost moment, my heart cries

Tears for one and smiles for some other
Strange are the ways of the great creator
But Hail the Lord, for he heals with time
A few tears more and it’ll soon be fine.

Delhi 6 - Phurr Phurr Phurrrrr

Delhi 6. First Day, Morning Show. One word review for the movie - boring. If i was given two words to describe it - Extremely boring.

The movie begins with a promise and then, in first 10 minutes  your expectations take a beating. Slow pace of the movie and poor screenplay ensures that you start feeling uncomfortable in the first 30 minutes.

Coming to the point, Rakeysh Omprakash Mehra wasted a commendable starcast that includes Om Puri, Atul Kulkarni, Rishi Kapoor, Waheeda Rahman, Abhishek Bachhan and Pavan Malhotra. Weaving a story around the Delhi's "Monkey Man" incident of 2001 is a an innovative idea. Set in the Old Delhi area of Chandni Chowk, this movie doesn't impress inspite of a few good moments scattered evenly through out its length. The movie drags in its second half with commonly seen ignorable stuff.

The story is of a 'Born in US' Roshan (Abhishek Bachhan) who comes to India with his grandmother (Waheeda Rahman) and starts living in the Chandni Chowk area of Delhi. He sees that people there live in harmony until a series of  "Monkey Man" attacks creates a rift between Hindus and Muslims. How the trouble between the communities is solved is what the movie is about. Oh yeah, I forgot to mention, there is a love story between Roshan and Bittu (Sonam Kapoor) whose only ambition is  to get selected in Indian Idol whereas her father Om Puri is desperate to get her married to someone. More details about this forgettable story will only waste my time.  So, chuck it.

Apart from a few jokes (4-5 , don't expect too many) and a few good dialogues, this movie is a dud.  Sonam Kapoor will have to wait have for something else to change her fortune. But, to be honest she is the only one who is watchable in this movie. Her Indianized looks inspired many whistles and screams in Anand 70mm, Secunderabad. Sonam Kapoor's aunt - just found out her name is Aditi Rao - she is cute too.

A good concept wasted. Poor script, poorer screenplay and worse editing.
Dilli 6, like the pigeon will fly away from the theatres soon phurr phurr phurrr....
